Nineteen people are homeless in the aftermath of a two alarm fire in Lebanon City.  The fire broke out at around 6:30 Thursday evening in the building along the 200 block of North 8th street.  Early reports indicate the fire began in a kitchen trash can of a second floor apartment.  The blaze quickly spread to adjoining apartments on the same floor and then to other apartments within the building. A total of four apartments were damaged.

Two firefighters were injured, one hurt his knee and another was treated for respiratory problems.  City firefighters were assisted by four suburban volunteer fire companies. There were no other reported injuries.  The American Red Cross was called in to provide assistance to the homeless.
