The man wanted for a homicide in Columbia Wednesday night is now in police custody.  Mario Casanova-Lanzo, 39, of Lancaster, is charged with criminal homicide and burglary in the death of Parrish Thaxton, 36, of the Bronx, New York. Police found Thaxton shot dead inside a residence at 224 North Third Street last night.

According the Affidavit or Probable Cause, Casnova-Lanzo, was positively identified as the shooter by his estranged wife, Holly Casanova.  She and Thaxton were together in the second floor bedroom of her home. She told police that she was still married to, but legally separated from Casanova-Lanzo.

Mario Casanova-Lanzo apparently turned himself in earlier today.
