Austin had been in an argument with his parents and left the home without telling them. Search and rescue dogs and a State Police helicopter were used to find Austin but were unsuccessful last evening.

He is described as 5’6″ tall, 165 pounds, with dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. Austin was last seen wearing a brown Carhart jacket, blue jeans and cowboy boots. A search party has resumed looking for him this morning.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

    Photo would help.

Why are the resources of dogs and a helicopter needed for a runaway 17-year old? The only reason I might support using those resources in this instance is if he was suicidal, dangerous or threatening which of course, the story does not elaborate. Therefore, anyone reading this story might not be too concerned. No picture. Teen rebellion with family.

The dogs were from VOLUNTEER search and rescue teams and the helo was only on scene a few minutes to aid the search team so the only public "resources" that cost anything would be the State troopers and some Helo fuel and I've paid taxes my whole life. Probably more than you ever have and when its in the teens at night and there is fear of hypothermia you try and find a kid. DO you have any kids? If so would you not want everything possible done to find them? The question is "HowIgnorantRYOU" ?
