A Cumberland County man is facing numerous charges after police say he stole several checks, then forged and cashed them.
Tynn Maxwell, 39, formerly of North Middleton Township, was arrested Wednesday and is charged with forgery, identity theft, theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking, theft of mislaid property, criminal attempt and unlawful use of a computer. Maxwell is accused of cashing four stolen checks from a North Middleton Township resident and attempted to cash a fifth check from a different victim.
He was taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $1,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.
