Despite rising prices on just about everything, people aren’t being frugal when it comes to their pets. Last year Americans spent about $52 billion dollars on their animals which is up five percent from 2011, when spending first broke the $50 billion dollar barrier. Also, the growing market of alternative vet care, like pet acupuncture, raked in some big money last year. Plus spending on services like grooming, boarding and pet-sitting grew nearly ten percent.
