A building under construction in Lancaster County collapsed this afternoon just before 4 p.m. Three people were injured when the building, located along the 400 block of Wenger Drive in Ephrata Borough, unexpectedly collapsed.

The building is a modular steel structure and the workers were injured while welding. Dozens of people were inside the building but most made it out safely.

At this point crews are unsure of what caused the building to collapse. All three people injured were taken to the hospital and none of their injuries were life-threatening.
