Harrisburg Police need assistance finding a missing 65-year old man. Officers were called to the YMCA on Front Street at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday morning for reports of a man threatening to jump into the river.

Franklin McDonald, 65 of Harrisburg, had called his girlfriend and told her he was considering ending his life. Police found his car in a parking lot on the 700 block of North Front Street. Both Riverfront Park and the Dock Street Dam were searched with negative results.

The Susquehanna River was searched by State Police from the Harvey Taylor Bridge to well past the Dock Street Dam but nothing was found. Anyone with information on McDonald’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lieutenant Robert Fegan at 717-255-3114 or Dauphin County Police dispatch at 717-558-6900.
