A Harrisburg man is in prison after he tried to set up a sex date with a teenage prostitute. Last week, police found out Mahmoud Awad, 52, of the 4000 block of King George Drive in suburban Harrisburg, was trying to hook up with teenage girls for sex. They arranged for Awad to meet with a woman at a fast food restaurant in Harrisburg. Awad expressed his desire for teenage girls and discussed prices for various sex acts with the woman.

An undercover officer, posing as a 15 year old prostitute, arranged a meeting with Awad for sex.  Awad met the undercover officer at a local motel Tuesday and agreed to pay her for sex acts.  A team of Vice Unit detectives entered the motel room and took Awad into custody without incident.  He was sent to the Dauphin County Prison in lieu of bail on charges of Patronizing a prostitute, Corruption of minors/commission of sex offense, Contact/communication with aminor-sexual, Criminal attempt/ indecent assault-less than 16 and Criminal attempt/ statutory sexual assault.
