A 65-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is closed due to a tractor trailer fire.
The fire broke out just after 2 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the turnpike just past the Blue Mountain interchange in Upper Mifflin Township, Cumberland County.
The eastbound lanes of the turnpike are closed between the Breezewood (exit 161) and Carlisle (exit 226) interchanges. PennDOT officials tell FOX43 the roadway could be closed for several hours.
To get around the closure, PennDOT advises taking the Breezewood exit onto U.S. Route 30 west. From there, take Interstate 70 east into Maryland, and then exit 26 for Interstate 81 north back into Pennsylvania.
FOX43 has a crew headed to the scene of the fire. Stay with FOX43 and FOX43.com for the latest information.
