Former Gov. Ed Rendell talks about sequestration

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell shared his thoughts on the Government sequester at a breakfast in York Saturday morning.
Rendell stopped by Sovereign Bank Stadium to speak at the York County Democratic Party’s State of the County Committee breakfast.
The former governor says, should the cuts take effect later this month, all Americans will feel the economic impact.
“All economists have suggested that it will cause negative growth of two or three percent. That might even drive us back into recession, and that effects all of us,” Rendell said.
State Auditor General Eugene DePasquale also spoke at the event.

Why do democrats try to invoke fear into the populus? Our government is roughly 2 times larger than 8-12 years ago (give or take). We spend more than we bring in. A country will never survive like that. 16 trillion in debt and still rising. When will the madness stop? The sequester is necessary, but still won't be enough. Raising taxes in a recession would do the same damage or even more. Yes, I will most likely lose my job because of the cuts. So what, I will find another one. I will never be a handout recipient from the government.

I do not believe that the cuts are a bad thing. Washington has gotten totally out of control with spending, and the brakes need to be applied………..HARD. In the last 4+ years we've seen the deficit increase beyond belief, and the powers that be in Washington just continue down the same destructive path. Instead of jumping on Air Force One and flying all over the country to broadcast his views of gloom and doom, our President should have stayed in Washington and worked with legislators in order to find a solution. I'm beginning to think our President is a huge part of the problem. All he does is talk, and point his finger at the GOP. He is not blameless in this whole fiasco (nor is the GOP), but he'd like us to think he didn't have anything to do with the whole debacle. The tax increase went into effect in January, now it is time to make cuts. There is way too much waste in Washington, and it needs to stop!

I love it. The guy who put PA in fiscal jeopardy buying votes, eating us out of house and home, and roaring down the turnpike at nearly 100 mph runs his mouth about the result of his ineptitude. Arrogance knows no bounds.
