Soup was on Saturday in Cumberland County. The chilly weather brought out hundreds of people for a delicious cook-off. 40 local chefs, both amateur and professional, packed the Park Inn Hotel in Mechanicsburg.
They whipped up their best soups for the crowd to taste and vote on their top three favorites in a variety of  categories.
All of the ticket sales benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central PA.
“The first year we had to convince people that this was a good event and then, when they came and saw it, they realized.. anybody that comes one year, right away they’re like, we’ll be back next year, so it’s just getting here to see how awesome it is and then they come back,” says organizer Megan Spittler.
This is the third year for the soup cook-off.
Last year, the event raised more than 3,000 dollars for Cystic Fibrosis research.
