The Cross-Country Relay of the IDOL Microphone, Traveling more than 5,000 miles from New York City to the IDOL stage in Los Angeles, Launched in THE BIG APPLE on Friday, With AMERICAN IDOL host Ryan Seacrest Passing the IDOL Mic to Retired Police Officer Daniel Rodriguez, who also sang the National Anthem.
Then, the mic started its trek through New York, including:
- A Walk through Times Square
- A Chess match at Union Square
- A Pickup game at the West 4th Street Basketball Courts
- Little Italy
- The Statue of Liberty
- The Piano from “Big” at FAO Schwarz
- Skating at Central Park’s Wollman Rink
