Some people think the yo-yo is just a toy, but for the hundreds of people that gathered in California this weekend, it’s a performance art.

Professional yo-yo players from across the globe competed for the title of California State Champ this weekend.

Contestants had two minutes to impress judges with their freestyle performances in order to win thousands of dollars.
