People in Drvar symbolically buried their town with a mock funeral that included candles, speeches, and even an obituary.

Two months ago the last company there closed, sending the town’s unemployment rate skyrocketing to 80%. That’s double the country’s average.

Last year deaths in the town outnumbered births 119 to 27.
