The popular gel manicures may be all the rage but they call actually increase your risk of skin cancer.  A doctor at NYU’s School of Medicine says the uv light used to set the gel polish damages your skin cells.  Right now, no one knows what the proper dose of the rays actually is because the uv lamps are not regulated.  The gel manicures are popular because they don’t chip and they last twice as long as regular nail polish.
