Suspect slashes clerk during robbery in Spring Garden Township

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man who police say slashed a store clerk during a robbery in Spring Garden Township on March 1st.  A knife-wielding man walked into the Family Mart along the 1700 block of East Market Street and demanded money from the register.

During the robbery the suspect slashed the clerk’s face, arms and neck with a folding knife. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on South Belmont Street. Investigators believe the man got into a SUV type vehicle with an exterior rear spare tire.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’9”-6’0” in height, in his late 20’s to early 30’s. He has brown hair with a full beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray knit cap that had a small brim, a yellow and green flannel shirt with a jacket and blue jeans.

A reward up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect responsible for this robbery.

The clerk was treated at York Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
