The Pennsylvania Farm Show complex in Harrisburg, has gone to the dogs. Man’s best friend is the center of attention at the annual PawsAbilities event this weekend.
They take part in events like the cutest dog contest and dog Olympic games.
Proceeds will go to Susquehanna Service Dogs. It’s an organization that trains and provides service and hearing dogs to people with special needs.
Pet owners were also able to get dog licenses at the event
Janis Creason, Dauphin County Treasurer says, “Every dog, three months of age or older, must be licensed according to Pennsylvania dog law, but another factor is that that license can be your dogs ticket home. We maintain a database of every license that we sell.”
March is Dog License Awareness Month and the state has set a goal to sell 100,000 licenses this month.
If the goal is met, PetSmart will donate 10,000 dollars to Susquehanna Service Dogs.
