Teens and young adults looking for work or higher education got some help in Harrisburg on Saturday.
A job and resource fair was held at the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
It was a one-stop-shop for Dauphin County residents between the ages of 14 and 24.
Job seekers were able to meet face-to-face with potential employers and college recruiters.
“I think the students really come with an expectation of receiving information, of networking, meeting professionals, connecting with mentors and really being encouraged to stay in school, to pursue a job and have some career development,” says Professor Starla Williams of Widener Law School.
“We’ve got the ability to get ID’s and working papers here today, fill out online applications and meet directly with employers that have opportunities for summertime jobs,” says Dauphin County Commissioner George Hartwick.
Hamilton Health Center was also on hand to give free pre-employment health physicals to all job applicants.
