State police say a man was killed after he ran in front of a car along Interstate 83 in Harrisburg on Saturday morning. It happened around 10:51 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-83 near the 13th Street exit. Troopers say the 27-year-old male, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania, was walking north on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-83 when he ran into traffic and was hit by a car.
The impact sent the victim flying over the jersey barrier and into the northbound lanes of travel. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
No word on his identity. The driver who hit the man is cooperating with the investigation.
It remains unclear why the man ran into traffic.
