Police are investigating after a Carlisle man returned home early Sunday morning and was assaulted by an intruder. The 31-year-old victim was confronted by a masked person when he turned on the lights at his home along the 900 block of Armstrong Road around 3:35 a.m.

The suspect punched the victim and then fled out a back door, police said.

The intruder ransacked the upstairs bedrooms of the home.
