Cleaning Up

These mild temperatures have a lot of people ready for spring cleaning.  Volunteers cleaning up some abandoned lots in Harrisburg for a few hours Monday.  The group tackled properties along Thompson Street in the Allison Hill Neighborhood.  They removed a couple of tires and filled up several bags of garbage.  One volunteer wants the area spotless for when kids come out to play.  Monday’s clean up was part of “Clean Sweep”community day, which is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity, Choice Living and The Green Urban Initiative.

This is precious, but what about the problem of the landowner not taking responsibility. If my home in the suburbs looked as bad, the Codes Officer would levee fines.

Hi Rosie, how did you know the tonnage. You are correct, but I just go the invoice around noon today! Thanks for letting folks know the impact they can have by working together to address our challenges instead of just complaining. You are awesome.
