(CNN) — Pope Francis said Wednesday night from Vatican City, “The duty of the conclave was to appoint a bishop of Rome and it seems to me that my brother cardinals have chosen one who is from far away, but here I am.”
After saying the Our Father prayer, the newly elected Pope Francis said Wednesday night, “Let us pray always for one another. Let us pray for the whole world … Let us have a big brotherhood.”
Pope Benedict said on Monday he will resign on Feb. 28 because he no longer has the strength to fulfill the duties of his office, becoming the first pontiff since the Middle Ages to step down.

Please post the entire text of what Pope Francis said. I think he granted a Plenary Indulgence, which is extraordinary.
