The City of York is starting renovation work on a former bar in the Salem Square neighborhood.  Several community stakeholders got together to buy Gus’ Tavern on West Princess Street in order to redo the former bar.  A group of people started some light demolition on the bar Thursday morning.  City leaders decided to completely redo the sit after past efforts to eradicate drugs and violence from the area failed.  Volunteers will be working on the sit until later this spring.
