Deadline reports that Colin Trevorrow has been tapped to helm “Jurassic Park 4,” which will be executive produced by original “Jurassic Park” director, Steven Spielberg.

The fourth “Jurassic” has Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”) handling the script. The movie will be filmed in 3-D, with an anticipated release date of June 13, 2014.

“Jurassic Park 4” will be Trevorrow’s second time directing a feature film; he made his debut with 2012’s “Safety Not Guaranteed,” a rom-com with a sci-fi bent that starred Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass and Jake Johnson.

Frank Marshall, who’s producing the project with Patrick Crowley, said on Twitter that Trevorrow was chosen because he gets the “Jurassic Park” universe.

“Thrilled to have director on ‘JP4,’ Colin Trevorrow, an exciting young filmmaker who understands and respects the world that is Jurassic Park,” Marshall posted on Thursday.
