York City Police have arrested Ana Diaz-Lopez, of East Philadelphia Street, for encouraging her daughter to fight another female student. On February 15th, Diaz-Lopez’s 13-year old daughter was involved in a fight with another 13-year old girl in the area of the 300 block of South Albemarle Street, while several students watched.

A few days later, on February 21st, a second fight occurred in the area of the 1100 block of East Princess Street, which launched an investigation. Officers found that Diaz-Lopez drove her daughters, ages 13, 16 and 17, to East Princess Street to confront the girl from the previous fight.

Four students are now facing charges of disorderly conduct for their involvement in the fights and one faces an additional charge of harassment. Diaz-Lopez is facing charges that include three counts of endangering the welfare of children, five counts of recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

Police report on a side note that, while the second fight occurred, Diaz-Lopez’s home was burglarized. Unknown suspects entered the home and caused damage to property inside. Anyone with information should contact the York City Police Department.
