The Steel-High girls basketball team saw their state championship run end with a heartbreaking loss in the state quarterfinals against Tri-Valley. The 2-time defending state champs, the Rollers, lost 73-72 at Reading High School in Berks County.
Tri-Valley hit the winning shot with just seconds to play on the clock.
Malia Tate-DeFreitas had 38 points for Steel-High.
The Rollers ended the year at 25 and 5.
