Police say the fatal Turnpike crash was a single vehicle crash. The bus struck a guard rail and traveled about 70 yards through a grassy area before it struck a tree. Forensic units are still on scene at this time reconstructing the crash.
Officials are still unsure how much diesel fuel was spilled during the accident. No further details at this time on victims’ conditions.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a fatal bus crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. One person was killed in the accident that happened around 9 a.m. this morning at mile marker 227 in the east bound lane near the Carlisle exit.
