A bill that would block the sale of lion meat could go before Illinois law makers this week.
The so-called Lion Meat Act would make it illegal to slaughter, or own the animals for the purpose of killing them for their meat.
The bill was proposed by a state representative, after learning that two companies in his state are allegedly selling lion meat.
