Coldest day of the week

COLDEST DAY: The coldest part of the week is upon us.  A lobe of cold air aloft parks itself over us today and breezy northwesterly winds will transport added chill to the area today.  Expect generally cloudy skies with a few snow showers in spots today.  We’ll only muster up some middle 30s for highs today so stay warm on this spring day.  Clouds break a bit tonight and we dip to the middle 20s.

DRY FOR A BIT:  We’re mainly dry Friday with temps rebounding into the low and middle 40s for highs.  We’ll see the clouds begin to a break a bit more with some extra sunshine through the afternoon.  Saturday looks even better with plenty of sun and highs into the middle and upper 40s.  Still below average but we’ll take it.  Sunday, clouds begin to roll in through the day as our next system approaches but we look generally dry through the day with highs in the mid 40s.

METEOGRAM

It’s a cold and windy day today, but we’ll gradually warm into the weekend.

MORE WINTRY WEATHER:  The models this morning are coming into agreement for us to see some wintry weather Sunday night into early Monday.  Right now, we’re holding a rain/snow mix for the time period, but this may fall as mainly snow.  It’s still three days out so plenty of tweaking will occur, but expect a sloppy morning commute for Monday.  Highs will be held in the 30s and low 40s.

The pattern will stay generally cool with a few snow showers possible through mid week.  Highs will be in the middle 40s with mainly cloudy skies too.  No sign of a warm up any time soon.

Happy Friday eve!
