A Leola man charged in the death of his infant son waived his preliminary hearing Friday morning. Jesus M. LaSanta, 27, faces charges of criminal homicide and child endangerment in the death of his four-month old son, Nazareth.
On Jan. 13 police were called to a home along the 400 block of Brendon Drive for a report of a baby choking. LaSanta admitted to police that he yanked the infant out of a bouncy seat, hit him across the chest and then slammed him onto a mattress.
Nazareth died three days later at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. An autopsy revealed that the child suffered multiple traumatic injuries including brain damage and cracked ribs.
LaSanta remains in Lancaster County Prison without bail.
His next court date is scheduled for April 24.

And his reasoning for hurting the defenseless child was, he was angry at the child's mother because he disagreed with the decision to give the baby yogurt. Really?!?!
