A car carrier fire in East Hempfield Township will keep Route 72, Lancaster Road, closed for hours while the mess is cleaned up. The carrier was hauling cars bound for the Manheim Auto Auction when its brakes overheated and caught fire, around 2:30am. The flames spread to the cars on board the trailer. An advisory from Lancaster County Control says Route 72 North between Graystone Road and Quarry Road will be shut down for 3-5 hours.
No injuries were reported.
