Arrests made in pizza delivery robberies

Police have arrested four people for the robbery of a Pizza Hut delivery driver that occurred on March 15th.  Tyler Grimes, 18, of the 4200 block of Marlborough Road in Dover Township, and three juveniles; Kevin Long Jr, 16, of the 1900 block of Poplars Road in Dover Township, Jovan Turner, 16, of the first block of Stony Lane, and Shakeem Acevedo, 17, of the 4100 block of Trabert Court, were all charged with Robbery and related charges.  The three juveniles in the case were charged as adults.  Investigation unfolded when Northern York County Regional Police Criminal Investigators served a search warrant on Tyler Grimes’ residence and located the Pizza Hut hot bag that was stolen in the course of the Robbery in his bedroom.

The delivery driver told police that he was attempting to make a delivery of 5 pizzas to an address in the first block of Stony Lane in Dover Borough just before 10pm on the 15th.  The house was dark when he pulled in front.  As the deliveryman waswalking to the home, three masked males ran towards him.

The leader of the pack wore a black beanie cap and a black mask, with a skeleton print on it, covering part of his face. The other two subjects were wearing dark hoodie sweatshirts and blue jeans.

The  suspect with the skeleton mask pointed a black handgun at him and ordered him to the ground.  The driver was then ordered to surrender the small amount of cash he had on him.    The other two subjects entered his car and removed the thermal bags containing the five pizzas.  The driver was able to get to his vehicle and drive away.  The three subjects were last scene running west on Stony Lane towards the Dover Intermediate School.

The driver was not injured.

Kevin Long Jr. was charged with:

  • Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
  • Robbery
  • Firearms not to be Carried without a License
  • Possessing Instruments of Crime
  • Possession of Firearm by Minor
  • Simple Assault
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person
  • Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition
  • Receiving Stolen Property

Tyler Grimes, Jovan Turner and Shakeem Acevedo were charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
  • Robbery
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition
  • Receiving Stolen Property
Arrests made in pizza delivery robberies

Jovan Turner, Shakeem Acevedo and Kevin Long Jr surrendered on Friday 04.05.2013 before MDJ Eshbach.  Turner and Acevedo were placed in York County Prison in lieu of $100,000 Bail and Kevin Long Jr was placed in York County Prison in lieu of $50,000 Bail.  Tyler Grimes is in York County Prison in lieu of other charges.
