It was a sea of colorful bright race T-shirts in York County, with hundreds of people particpating in “Walk M.S.”
Supporters gathered at John Rudy Park to raise money for research and to talk about Multiple Sclerosis.
About 900 people took part in Sunday’s walk, making strides toward a local goal of raising $800,000 to fight the disease.
Organizers say the money raised will stay here in Pennsylvania to find a cure.
“I think everyone who’s here walking and everyone here who’s affected by M.S. is just hoping that there will be a cure. There will be a day when we won’t have to give ourselves a shot everyday or take a pill everyday or get progressively worse with M.S. so, I think everyone’s goal today is to find a cure,” says Karen Jury, a walker and patient.
More than 6,000 Pennsylvanians are living with M.S. Walkers were able to walk one, three or five miles to show their support.
