playgroundA playground that was destroyed and later ruled because of arson is getting a second chance thanks to the Mount Joy community.

The community has come together to rebuild the Kids Joy Land at Kunckle Park.

On Thursday,  it was deemed “Design Day” where a designer visited local elementary schools to begin sketching what the new playground will look like in the future.

Organizers say they felt that after the playground was destroyed in 2012, it needed to be rebuilt for the kids.

The project will cost anywhere from 175,000 to 200,000 dollars and they hope to break ground by next spring.
