The incident happened on Thursday afternoon along the 200 block of Strawberry Street. Police say the victim was bent over in the middle of the roadway to pick up a cat when she heard a loud muffler and then was stuck by a vehicle.

The suspect’s vehicle initially slowed down–but then sped off, police said.

The victim was treated at the scene for her injuries.

The vehicle is described as a dark silver or gray car that  sits low to the ground. It also has a large rear spoiler and a loud muffler, police said.
