PinnacleHealth is part of a new development project aimed at increasing access to healthcare in Perry County. PinnacleHealth has entered into an agreement with Newport Medical One, LP, a joint venture between Triple Crown Corporation and Omni Realty Group, to lease space for primary and specialty care, imaging and laboratory services in the new Medical Professional Center to be built in Newport.

The Medical Professional Center will be located along Shortcut Road, near the Giant Food Store, and also house Sisson-Boyer Eyecare, LLC and Daniel Hengst, DMD Dentistry on the second floor. The PinnacleHealth FamilyCare, Newport office will relocate into the first floor of the Medical Professional Center.  Physicians from the PinnacleHealth Cardiovascular Institute will provide cardiology care and cardiology diagnostic testing. In addition, physician specialists, including orthopedics, urology and others, will provide services to the Newport area from this office.

“PinnacleHealth is pleased to partner with the other healthcare providers in Newport to bring expanded and comprehensive outpatient healthcare to the Perry County residents,” states Michael A. Young, president and CEO for PinnacleHealth.Adding increased access to primary care and outpatient services is part of PinnacleHealth’s implementation plan based on the recent Community Health Needs Assessment completed in 2012.”

The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) results identified three priority areas, including Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles, Health Education, and Access to Affordable Healthcare. In particular, results showed a need for better access to care and higher rates of heart disease and obesity in Perry County.

“Establishing a good relationship with a primary care physician, as well as early intervention for chronic illness, is very important in long-term health and wellness. This center will combine primary care and specialty services for added convenience for Perry County residents,” added Young.

General Contractor Triple Crown Corp. will break ground July 2013 on the two-story facility that will be approximately 30,000 square feet when completed in spring 2014. The historic Campbell Family barn will remain adjacent to the property.
