Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a small plane crash at the Baublitz Commercial Airport on Muddy Creek Forks Road in Chanceford Township. At around 10:30 a.m., the small plane struck utility pole wires just after take off and crashed.

The pilot, 20-year old Randy Shoemaker, and the passenger, 61-year old Laurence Stone were on board and suffered injuries. Emergency officials say the injuries are not life-threatening and the men were taken to York Hospital for treatment.

The FAA has been notified and will investigate the crash. At this time, many MetEd customers in the area are without power due to the crash. Crews are on scene and ready to fix the problem but must wait for the FAA to investigate before making repairs. It could be several hours until power is restored.
