GREAT STRETCH: Here come several days of gorgeous weather with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s with plenty of sun. It’s great weather to get outdoors and have some fun or get the spring yard work taken care of this weekend. All of this comes courtesy of some blocked atmospheric flow known as an Omega Block because it’s shaped like the Greek letter Omega (Ω). At the bases it’s cool, damp, cloudy and wet. At the top, it’s warm and sunny and that’s where we shall reside through the weekend.
Today, expect sunshine and highs in the low 70s. A few clouds slip in overnight toward daybreak at temps drop to the upper 40s. A chunk of cooler air slips south form New England, but it’s only going to hold us into the upper 60s for Friday. No biggie.
WEEKEND: Expect plenty of sunshine and temps in the low 70s both days. It’s that simple: A good looking May weekend! Especially if you have a trip planned for Hersheypark opening weekend!
SLOW CHANGE: Monday we’re still warm and in the 70s, but some clouds are added to the mix as the blocked flow starts to break down. Tuesday and Wednesday, a slow moving upper low will be moving eastward, just to our south. This throws more clouds into the forecast and the chance for a few rain showers. Temps will be held in the upper 60s. We’ll need to watch how this upper low travels to tweak the forecast.
Happy Friday Eve! We’ll see you live from Hersheypark tomorrow for our live show from 4-9 A.M.
