Lower Paxton Township Police say the man they arrested for torching a car early Tuesday morning did it to impress the girl he was stalking. Hamza Gulfam Swati, 19, of the 2400 block of Kensington Way, Lower Paxton Township, is charged with Arson, Stalking and other related offense. Police say he set a car on fire at  the Brook Apartments, severely damaging the vehicle. Investigators knew right away it was a case of arson and with a little digging, discovered it was related to an ongoing stalking situation which had no connection to the owner of the vehicle other than where the vehicle was parked.

Swati was arraigned at Night Court by Magisterial District Judge Shugars and bail was set at $250,000.  He was then taken to Dauphin County Prison when he could not post the bail.  Swati did sustain burns to his arms, neck and face in the arson.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lower Paxton Township Police Department at (717) 657-5656, the anonymous Tip-Line at (717) 724-8317 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 262-3080.
