It’s a dream come true for many children and adults; getting the chance to ride on a fire truck!
Those dreams became reality for folks in York County on Saturday, thanks to the Goodwill Fire Company.
It hosted its “Fire Engine Rides” event at the fire station on South Queen Street.
It cost just $5.00 to cruise in one of the engines and all proceeds went to a good cause.
“Half of the proceeds are going to Chief Rodney Miller, we did our boot drive last week, raised a good amount for money towards the family of Chief Rodney Miller also. Half of the proceeds are going to that. The other half is going to the York County Firefighters Convention this year,” says Firefighter Josh Stifler.
Miller was the chief of the Loganville Fire Department.
He was recently killed after being struck by a suspected drunk driver while during traffic on Interstate 83.
