COOL AND BREEZY MOTHER’S DAY

WebPHOTO1

A cold front clears the region this evening, bringing a cooler air mass behind it.  Clouds stay fairly dominant through the overnight period, but they do break up a little bit toward daybreak.  With the colder air settling in, low temperatures drop to near 50 degrees.  Mother’s Day is dry for most, with high pressure moving into the region, but plenty of cool air way up in the atmosphere helps to bubble up clouds and keep temperatures on the cool side too.  A stray shower is possible to the northwest.  High reach the upper 50s to lower 60s across the Lower Susquehanna Valley.  It’s also a breezy day, with gusts as high as 25 to 30 miles per hour.  Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers!

SLOWLY WARMING UP

Monday is an even cooler day, with plenty of clouds sticking around.  Highs only reach the middle to upper 50s!  Expect chilly mornings Monday and Tuesday, with lows reaching the 30s for many, so frosty areas are a concern.  Tuesday, we begin to warm, with plenty of sunshine still around.  Highs bounce back into the 60s, but that is still below seasonable averages.

MILD END TO THE WEEK

By Wednesday, temperatures recover into the 70s, but a front hanging around the region could bring an isolated thunderstorm or two.  Thursday a few storms are still possible, with warmer temperatures.  Expect highs in the upper 70s.  Friday and Saturday dry out, with highs remaining in the 70s.

Have a great Mother’s Day!
