Pennsylvania State Police have arrested 35-year old Karen Reitz of State College after leading troopers on a police chase, with a 1-year old in the car. Reitz was involved in a hit and run crash Friday afternoon in the McDonald’s parking lot of Newport Plaza, in Howe Township, Perry County.

Troopers found her car a short time after the crash at the Pilot Truck Stop on 22/322 East. She refused to stop and proceeded to lead troopers on a high speed chase. Her car was eventually stopped on Mountain Road in Dauphin County.

Reitz had two passengers during the chase, a 1-year old child and 23-year old Vincent Williams, Jr., also of State College. She was taken into custody and faces numerous charges, including Hit and Run, Fleeing and Eluding, DUI, Recklessly Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Reitz was arraigned and bail set at $25,000. She could not pay the amount and is currently in Cumberland County Prison. A preliminary hearing has been set for May 17th.
