A mouth watering lancaster tradition took place at Long’s Park on Saturday.
The 60th Annual Sertoma Chicken BBQ was held at the park.
It’s known as the world’s largest chicken BBQ, with 25,000 chicken dinners up for sale.
People can enjoy their meal at the park or drive through and take it home.
It takes about 500 volunteers to make the BBQ a success.
Chairperson June Chipman says, “We have volunteers that come from Virginia, New York, they spend their vacation in Lancaster this week and volunteer at this event, I mean, who does that? That’s just the great event that it is really.”
This year’s goal of the Sertoma BBQ was to raise $125,000.
Most of that money goes back to Long’s Park for improvements, maintenance and upgrades.
