Police say a man was hospitalized after being stabbed outside of a church while waiting in line for breakfast in Lancaster City on Saturday morning. The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m. outside the First Presbyterian Church along the 100 block of East Orange Street.

The victim was stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest, according to police. He was taken to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Police are not releasing the identity of the man.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Authorities are interviewing witnesses and the investigation is ongoing.

The church provides free breakfasts for those in need every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
