Youngsters learned about bicycle safety and rules today at the 2013 Bicycle Rodeo in Harrisburg. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 were taught bicycle safety and awareness by police officers from the Swatara Township Police Department.
The bike rodeo is designed to inform kids of proper signaling when biking on roadways. “It’s a really great day or event for the kids to be in because not only do we do bike inspections, we do helmet checks, we go over safety rules and also the laws of the road,” said Corporal Brandon Pokrop.
Kids also had the chance to ride in a bike obstacle course during the event.
