The American Academy of Pediatrics is urging doctors to address mental health concerns for children in military families.
More than two million American children have had at least one parent deployed in the past decade. Doctors say a child will typically experience some type of stress when a parent first leaves. However, if that level of stress continues or gets worse without treatment, a child could face more serious emotional or developmental problems.
