The first of many warm days begins this afternoon. A strengthening ridge of high pressure and a strong southwesterly flow warms Central PA into the middle and upper 80s. It’s a muggy afternoon as well, with dew points in the middle 60s. Our latest model trends indicate the formation of some showers and thunderstorms along the north and northwestern parts of the state this afternoon. There is the possibility some of them may drop down into parts our region, particularly our northwestern counties. A few of these could bring some gusty winds and small hail. Otherwise, expect a quiet and very warm afternoon.
