It’s been a hot topic at Gettysburg Borough Council meetings, where will the millions of people use “the facilities” during this summer’s 150th anniversary?
Gettysburg has followed a strategic planning process to make sure there will be enough toilets for the high volume of people expected to visit.
It’s empty today but in a few weeks, more than $21,000 dollars worth of porta-potties will line these streets and give people a place to go.
But those portable toilets are only a small portion of the facilities that will be around town for the 150th anniversary.
Toilets will also be available to those participating in re-inactment events and in several key locations.
“We’re going to have a lot of people here so we want to make sure they have the best experience possible so we want to take care of all of their needs,” says President of the Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, Norris Flowers.
Besides a plethera of toilets, the Convention and Visitors Buearu is also handing out free water to visitors.
