A York County soldier killed in the line of duty was honored today. Specialist Zachary Clouser, of Dover was killed in Iraq in 2007, just one month before he was supposed to come home.

Today, a memorial motorcycle ride was held in his honor. It was sponsored by the Guardian Knights, to benefit the Zachary Clouser education scholarship fund.

The ride started at Prospect Hill Cemetery in North York. Zachary’s father, Ron Etheridge, organized the ride and said, “It is just amazing to see the number of people that are willing to give their time, give of themselves to help someone else. And it puts a positive spin on a motorcycle community and that’s what the Guardian Knights are all about. It’s a law enforcement based club that gives back to the community.”

The memorial ride ended close to where Clouser grew up, at Brookside Park in Dover. He was a 2005 graduate of Dover High School.
