A boil water advisory is in effect for some United Water customers living in Swatara Township. A 12-inch water main broke and caused service interruptions to customers living along Derry Street, from North 40th to 44th Street, as well as Cedar and York Streets.

Repairs are expected to be completed by 12 p.m., according to a United Water news release.

When water service resumes, affected customers should boil their water until further notice.

Residents are advised to bring all water to a boil, letting it boil for one minute and cool before use. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.
